Overview

Bèhë-cêthè Ye was founded durring the early 14th century in winter of the year 1348, by Mërmpf̄ Ca̋mē 'Lily Waves' Jó̄s Sérmb Cawmé. The establishment of Bèhë-cêthè Ye was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Mërmpf̄ Ca̋mē 'Lily Waves' Jó̄s Sérmb Cawmé struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Bèhë-cêthè Ye as a prison colony.

Bèhë-cêthè Ye was built using the conventions of Iron Elvish durring the early 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Bèhë-cêthè Ye is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Bèhë-cêthè Ye is is constructed arround a series of narrow packed earth mainstreets which form concentric circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to each other at varrious points. The city rests behind a thick wall made from clay bricks. The wall has all of the proper fortifications and is well made. Unfortuantly the nature of clay brick leaves it quite vulnerable to siege equipment, though the thickness of the wall lends it simmilar resistnace to a thinner hardrock wall. Bèhë-cêthè Ye's millitarily questionable fortifications are suffering from significent damage, so much so that examples can be pointed to no matter which section one might have within their line of site, and most of which render sections inoperable at present.

The first thing you notice about Bèhë-cêthè Ye is the large sign at the entrance welcoming you to their humble city. Children come up to you and say hi, some asking if you’ve fought any big monsters, and others just zipping away after their hello. The adults are much the same. By the time you’ve made it a significant way into the town you’ve been invited to a tavern for a pint to drink in exchange for news of the world. You’ve also had no less than three older women give you a sweetroll and direct your attention to their still unmarried children. It would be creepy if it wasn't so sincere.

Cultural Notes

Bèhë-cêthè Ye's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for the combined use of arcuated and trabeated construction, employing arches and constructed with post and lintel. The arch served as the style's chief structural element, with flanking columns serving as buttresses or decorations. While the general shape of their structures could be generously described as simplistic, the use of these arches and columns created a most distinct ascetic which is easily distinguishable on sight to armatures and experts alike.
